TLC’s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” was cancelled moments after TMZ broke the story that Mama June, Honey boo Boo’s mom, was caught canoodling with a pedophile ex, Mark McDaniel. The convicted child molester served several years in prison for aggravated child molestation. He served 10 years in prison and was released last March.
And the story takes a darker turn when it was revealed that it was Mama June’s oldest daughter, Anna Marie Cardwell, who was the 8 year old victim in the case!
In an interview by RadarOnline, Anna recounts how McDaniel would molest her while Mama June was out working. Anna said she’d try to tell her mother about the assault but initially, she wasn’t receiving the shocking news.
“A week or so after it happened, I talked to Mama and she was upset, crying and saying, ‘I don’t believe you, I don’t believe you, why would you do this to me?”, she adds, “Mama, he did that to me and I can’t do anything about it. You were never there to see it you were always at work.”
After the incident, Mama June claims she dumped Mark a long time ago but TMZ published damning evidence showing otherwise. As soon as the photos hit, TLC quickly pulled the plug on the show.
In a statement, a representative says, “TLC has cancelled the series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately. Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”
Anna admits she is extremely hurt about how the events unfolded. Now married with a toddler, she says she refuses letting Mama June see her daughter unless Mark is out of sight.
