A reporter Charlo Greene after reporting on the Alaska Cannabis Club and the legalization of marijuana in the State of Alaska then declared live on air that she was indeed the actual owner of the AK Cannabis club…and then to the cheers of potheads everywhere she said ‘F*ck it, I quit’ and walked off the air. Here’s the quote:
“Now everything you’ve heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska,” she said. “And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, fuck it, I quit.”
Asked why she quit in such a dramatic way, she said, “Because I wanted to draw attention to this issue. And the issue is medical marijuana. Ballot Measure 2 is a way to make medical marijuana real … most patients didn’t know the state didn’t set up the framework to get patients their medicine.”
“If I offended anyone, I apologize, but I’m not sorry for the choice that I made,” she said.
The best part of the clip was when the camera was forced to push back to the other anchorwoman and flustered she apologized, and then thought to go to commercials…nope head straight into the next segment. Oh boy, I feel for her, nobody knows how to get themselves out of a viral video they didn’t know was coming.
Perhaps years from now when we look back at that naive time when the good people of cannabis clubs around the globe fought for the right to smoke a joint in your basement they will look at Charlo Greene and think, “Wow, what a freedom fighter!”.
