Nothing like being stuck in the chimney to seal the seventh online date, eh? Firefighters rushed to a house owned by Lawrence Fernandez to rescue a woman who was stuck in his chimney, in Thousand Oaks, California. The woman in question turns out to be one of Lawrence’s former dates, Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa.
In an interview with KTLA, Lawrence said, “She seemed totally cool until the first flag was her actually being on my roof two weeks ago.”
After discovering the woman was stuck in his chimney, he called the cops on her.
And because you have no idea the kind of creeps you might meet online, Lawrence had this to say, “Before you have somebody come in your house really check them out … really give it some time before you let somebody in, because they might want to stay.”
Firefighters had to use a jackhammer to pry the woman out of the chimney and doused her with lubrication to squeeze her out of the opening. A ladder truck, according to tweets by Ventura County Fire Department Capt. Mike Lindbery, then lifted her off the destroyed chimney.
Nunez-Figueroa remained conscious throughout the ordeal. She was taken to hospital for examination. No word if she’ll ever recover from the shame of having her ex-date call the cops on her for sneaking into his house through the chimney.
According to authorities, Nunez-Figueroa’s intent in trying to break in remains unclear. She also provided false information to a police officer. Lawrence sure knows how to pick ‘em.
